4 Reasons Why Your Changes Failed

In the past year, I've been blogging about change. In my blog post 4 Things to Know When Leading Change, I wrote that as a leader, you have to be willing to fail.

When it comes to leading change, I’ve been successful at times, and failed at times. The point is, change involves risk. If you are looking to lead change, you have to understand this, at the same time, don’t be afraid to fail. Accept the challenge, and when you fail, don’t let it defeat you.

Did you know that change fails more often than not? Here are 4 reasons why: ​​​​​​​ 
  1. No Prayer. You can't lead change without prayer. Prayer is that special time with Jesus. It's like a one on one session that will help you see what you didn't see before. It causes you to think things through and see them a little better and more closer. 

  2. No sense of Urgency. Many times, you may want change and can see change is needed, but at times your sense of urgency is out paced by the need.  At the same time, not everyone is willing to take it on or take the lead so, it gets put off for another time.

  3. No Clarity. If you can't explain clearly why changes are needed, the less likely people will be open to it. Learn more.

  4. No Patients. You can't and should never rush change. Change takes time! In my blog post 4 Things to do While You're Waiting on Change, I wrote that, accept the fact that you will just have to be patient and wait.  

    For many, change is not easy, and when they decide to change, it won’t and shouldn’t come all at once. Some things take time, and some things take more time. ​​​​​​​
